Would You Go to Such Lengths to Feel the Spirit?
We have a new sister in our Ward who was baptized last May. She was feeling discouraged last Saturday. When she tried to pray in her home, she just couldn't feel the Spirit. She has been listening to testimonies about going to the Temple, so Saturday she asked another new convert and her son to ride with her all the way to a big city to find the temple. It took them four hours once they arrived in the city to find the temple, but they finally spotted it. They parked and walked around and took pictures, but this was not enough for this sweet sister. She went right up to the front doors of the temple and knocked. She said the sweetest elderly man all dressed in white open the door and invited them into the foyer of the temple. She told the man and two little sisters all dressed in white that she had just been baptized and that she did NOT have a temple reccommend, but she had come to the temple to pray. She asked if there was any where she could go to pray. The elderly man invited them to go into the waiting room. She took her friend and her son and they entered into the temple waiting room. They knelt and prayed. She said her heart was beating very fast. She could feel the most amazing Spirit as she stood inside the temple. She left the temple with joy and thanksgiving in her heart that replaced the despair she had been feeling. Would we go to such lengths to feel the Spirit in our lives?
