Here is a poem I wrote for Ally Kay:
The Birthing of a Granddaughter
Placing my hand
on your swollen belly,
I feel her trying to stretch
in her cramped corner.
As I watch you
once again give birth
to a daughter,
joy feels my heart.
I reminisce the moment
you pushed
with all your might
rupturing and spilling
The bag of water that
held you captive
within my swollen
belly.
Three generations
replenishing the earth
with beauty, love,
and life.
