This past weekend we had Stake Conference--but with new technology--the conference was televised from the Longview Stake Center to the Lufkin Ward Building. It was different, but with the price of gasoline--it was also a blessing to many families in our area. On Sunday there were perhaps 300 Saints attending Stake Conference in Lufkin with the northern part of the Stake gathered in Longview at the Stake Center.
President Charles Wagley (kin of "Uncle" Fred Wagley from Many where Daddy served as Bishop) said, "When we kneel and say our prayers--we do not have to state our full name to Heavenly Father--instead we just start praying because we know that He knows us and He loves us and He is listening." I think that went straight to my heart and pierced my very soul.
The Dallas Temple President told us to look up at night at the stars in the sky--realizing that those stars have been there for enons of time will have an end, but we will not--we will be ressurrected and have eternal life. Since Breanna and Kayden love to look up at the stars and moon in the night time sky--this statement touched me also.
Well Papa and Mema are counting down the days until we head for North Carolina!!!!! We will leave Thursday afternoon and go as far as we can. On Friday we will be with Josh and then leave Saturday morning for Leigh's. Gin and Clay and their kiddos will arrive at Josh's on Saturday and then join us in North Carolina on Sunday. Boy Scout Camp will begin Monday for Clay, Papa, Harrison and Zachary while Gin, Cailey, Rylan, Cara, Hunter, Kelsey and Leigh will have fun visiting and doing fun things all over the area where we use to live and where Miss Megan was born. We will be gone about 10 days. Katrina Storrs Nicholas and her husband Jason will be staying in our home and feeding Bubba and Spicy while Burglar Girl and Cowgirl will be staying with Grandpa McKneely!!!! :)
